About the Northeast School of Dance

The studio opened in August 1969 at the Good Shepherd Methodist Church. It began as a children's movement choir. Beth Schiebel began the studio with five students and she was the only teacher teaching tap, ballet, jazz, and acrobatics. The studio remained at that location for three years, teaching only on Saturdays.

Northeast then moved to a location on Coliseum Blvd., in the Stoller building, to the first Northeast School of Dance. It remained there for another three years before moving to the present location in Georgetown Square Shopping Center.

Since 1991, the studio has compiled over 20 National Championship dance routines, along with other regional and national dance honors.

The Northeast School of Dance has a highly qualified teaching staff and now offers classes in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, pointe, and hip hop.
